As our family runs around the house doing their standard weekend chores we do our best to
stay out of the way.
Achilles: I am on the
floor on my burnt orange bath mat as one of my kids goes sailing over my head with an arm-full of toys (that in truth I would
love to sink my teeth into but I know better) to take to the depths of his big wooden box (that I would also like to sink
my teeth into); shortly fallowed by my other kid with an armful of cloth that smells really fresh. Mom
comes by with another arm full of that cloth that smells fresh and gently brushes my head with her foot as she goes by.
A love pat. Dad is clanking around with loud objects and more importantly I can smell bacon coming
from the food room.
Luna:
I am curled up in a ball on the end of the couch. I hear the kid’s barrel past me with unrecognizable
objects then mom comes by and with a pat on the head she heads for the room with the big bed. I hear loud
noises coming from the food room and pull myself off the couch stretching all my muscles in the process to go investigate
the wonderful smell. When no one is looking Dad slips me a sliver of bacon after he has shoed me away from
the thing that takes the yummy taste off the bowls (Dishwasher).
River: I’m fallowing mom around while she brushes the floor. I am
not sure why she does this. I stick my nose in to see what the big deal is and she fusses.
I really don’t know why she bothers but I go find my place on the couch next to Luna and watch her patiently
waiting for the pat and kiss on the head that I know will come after she puts all the stuff on the floor in this bucket thing.
I still don’t understand but she seems pleased so I wag my tail and try to give her a kiss of my own. Then
I wander into the food room where I know dad will play with me and give me a bite of what smells so good.
Odysseus:
I'm chasing the cat, and my tail, and the kids; oh wait, is that food I smell? I head back for the kitchen and sure
enough its breakfast! My favorite. I go, find my place next to dad and wait for something to be handed my way.
I can't sit there long though because my boys run in with a baseball and want to go play. My favorite game is fetch,
just like mom! Here we go!!!!
We are the Piper Family and our dogs
are a fixture in our lives. Not a fixture like a chair that can be replaced; an irreplaceable fixture in
our hearts. Achilles, Luna and River and Oddy are such a part of our every day
movement that it almost seems as though they know what we are doing and what comes next. They know that
during the week there is a rhythm and that on Saturdays there will be company over. Then they also know
that on Sunday we do family stuff. We play ball (Luna and Oddy's game) and race (Achilles game) and
we watch movies (River idea of a good time). Their mannerisms seem to let us know that they understand.
They take up our whole couch and snore really loud. When we sit down we have
no doubt that with-in five minutes we will have about 265lbs of dogs (Achilles 85lbs, Luna 50lbs, River 60lbs and Oddy
70lbs) in our laps or attempting to make themselves so small they fit between us. It’s amazing where
these animals can fit when they have a mind to. We are a Pit Bull family and live in a Pit Bull World.
We hope you will look through all
of our tabs on this site. There is individual information on each dog under their respective label.
If we have available puppies their photos are updated regularly. Look around and Enjoy.
Welcome to a small glimpse of our big hearted Bully world.
